Position Summary
The Transportation and Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing the transportation department and all transportation functions at location. Hires, trains, and supervises employees and manages routes.
Location: Carolina Egg Company, Glenwood Facility
Key Duties, Skills & Abilities:
Oversees warehouse operations and transportation deliveries, pickups, routes and employees.
Supervises the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
Ensure customer goods move from production through the supply chain to the end user.
Establish quality transportation services.
Develop partnerships with outside carriers in shipping.
Supervise scheduling of shipments.
Supervises performance of site employees with emphasis on productivity, efficiency, and service delivery.
Leads all site distribution and transportation planning and strategic activities.
Recruits, interview, select, train, motivate, coach, and mentors transportation/warehouse employees.
Assist in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities and customer satisfaction opportunities.
Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer complaints.
Conducts periodic quality surveys with customers regarding driver performance.
Prepares and develops safety procedures, as well as making sure that shipping documents are properly prepared.
Responds on an on-call basis to emergencies and critical situations that occur after hours.

Helps drive all of BFF’s Environment Management Systems (EMS) in an impactful manner to include monitoring/reducing operationally related negative effects on the environment as well as pollution prevention.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret complex documents such as market data, financial reports, maintenance instructions, and technical manuals. Ability to effectively write reports and communicates via email, in-person or telephone. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to speak Spanish is a definite plus.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform complex mathematical functions on spreadsheets to include writing formulas and creating pivot tables. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to resolve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
MS Office
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must have a Commercial Driver’s License and be able to pass DOT physical exam and DOT drug test
Must have a forklift license
