Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie

Happy National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day! This gooey skillet version of the classic can be modified by adding caramel or nuts. Thank you Eggland's Best for the recipe.

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 large Braswell Family Farms eggs, beaten
  • 2 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 and 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Melt butter in a 10 inch cast iron skillet over medium heat. Pour melted butter into a mixing bowl and set skillet aside. (If you are using a baking dish instead of skillet, butter can be melted in the microwave)
  3. Stir brown sugar into the melted butter.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
  5. Add flour, baking soda and salt; mix until combined.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips.
  7. Press the cookie dough into the skillet. You may have to evenly press this into the pans with your hands.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until edges golden brown.
  9. Serve hot and top with caramel sauce or your favorite ice cream!
